Job Title: Work Based Learning Trainer/Assessor in Wood
Location: Essex
Pay rate: £25,961 - £29,218 per annum
Hours: Full Time
Duration: Permanent

Our REED Education FE branch are currently working with a great college on an exciting new role in the Essex area.

Starting immediately, the college are looking for an outstanding Work Based Learning Assessor/Trainer in Wood to join them on a permanent basis.

The College:

Our Clients recent Ofsted inspection which has declared the college as “Good” in every single category including: Student Outcomes (results and standards of work); Teaching and Learning; Leadership and Management; and Personal Development, Behaviour and Welfare. Inspectors also looked separately at Apprenticeship provision courses for Adults, and Study Programmes for the 4,000 full time 16-19-year-old students at the College, and stated that all of these were also “Good”.

The Role:

· To deliver and coordinate the successful completion of all aspects of allocated work based / apprenticeship candidates, including the carrying out of assessments and the undertaking of pastoral care.
· Liaise with employers, external verifiers and staff to maximise framework completions.
· To oversee / carry out live practical projects both within the college or other establishments maintaining a high quality of work in accordance to statutory requirements.
· You will be assessing and supporting learners working towards Wood Apprenticeships up to Level 3.
· Visiting/observing learners in their place of work to see if they are successfully progressing towards their apprenticeship.
· You will be organising and maintaining documentation on learners` progress.
· Overcome barriers to learning and adapt delivery to meet learner`s needs.
· You will be working with students aged 16+

What you will need:

· Assessors Award
· A recognised teaching qualification
· Level 3 qualification in Wood or equivalent
· Experience assesing and supporting learners working towards Wood apprenticeships up to Level 3.
· Significant experience of working in industry within a Wood environment
·Experience of maintaining tools equipment associated with Wood.
· Knowledge of current safeguarding and equality and diversity practices in FE
