Media Advisor, Communications Team, Yorkshire Water

Salary up to £35,000 + benefits, located in Bradford

What will the role involve ?
This role is perfect for a creative media relations specialist with a talent for seeking out and creating stories that generate coverage on and offline. You'll be required to develop content and deliver media activity, acting as a spokesperson when required for print and broadcast media.

As part of a busy media team, you'll deal with sensitive media issue, preparing statements, monitoring issues and ensuring the business is aware of the media position.

You'll have the skills to be able to translate business messages into compelling content that works in online and offline platforms. You'll also support the business critical campaigns, developing unique ways to gain positive media coverage.


What skills are we looking for ?

Significant experience as a media professional within an agency or in-house environment is required for this role.

You'll build and maintain relationships with key media influencers so you'll need to be confident in handling and liaising with journalists and the media.

The role needs a proactive, creative and driven individual who has the ability to turn creative ideas into stories, often working to tight deadlines and meeting the demands of the business.

You'll need strong knowledge of social media and wider digital environments and you'll know how to utilise offline channels to drive interest online.

You'll need to have a proven track record of delivering effective on and offline media campaigns that have achieved significant results. To do this you'll have the skills to create content that users want to engage with, and the ability to use this to build relationships and create advocacy.

Given the nature of the role, you'll have an ability to organise your own work load and plan your media campaigns to deliver targets. You'll work as part of a wider communications team to add expert media knowledge to bring projects to life on and offline in the media.

You'll have excellent interpersonal and influencing skills to be able to work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

Your written skills and attention to detail will be excellent to ensure that any content created is of the highest quality.

It would be desirable to have a public relations qualification or similar but not essential.

A full valid EU driving licence is required.
