The ideal candidate will be able to slot easily into the Alternative Behaviour School setting and be able to take initiative when supporting the class teacher, so experience in a similar environment would be an advantage. Successful candidates will have a 'hands-on' attitude when it comes to working with pupils displaying challenging behaviour and Special Educational Needsand may be asked to work on a 1:1 basis with students.
Sports graduates and coaches have proven to work successfully in the SEN and behaviour schools within York and North Yorkshire. An alternative provision in Scarborough, which caters for students excluded from mainstream schools and have Autism and challenging behaviour. We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to support within the class, and then take small groups of students out to deliver pre planned intervention classes.
An ideal candidate will have:
-A Sports coaching degree or alternative qualification
-Excellent behaviour management
-Experience of working with Autism and Learning Difficulties
