A popular five-form entry school in the Warrington is looking to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to start asap on a fixed term contract.If you have the skills to motivate and inspire children facing challenging barriers to learning, then this HLTA job is ideal for you.

Your new role
The head teacher and governors are looking to significantly raise attainment levels within the school, and so have created a new role within the staffing structure for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant. The successful HLTA will hold a recognised Teaching Assistant qualification as well as HLTA status, and have experience of working in a secondary school setting as a HLTA with a proven record of reaching children with social; emotional or physical barriers to learning. You will be required to liaise closely with staff within the school community as well as external agencies to create a safe and consistent learning environment in which all pupils will progress. Experience of using the SIMS system and having had an impact on improving attendance is essential. Additional skills / qualifications in counselling would also be an advantage.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this Higher Level Teaching Assistant job you will have a Teaching Assistant qualification as well as HLTA status, and at least 6 months reference-able experience of working in a Secondary school within the last 2 years. You will have strong listening and communication skills combined with a non-judgemental approach Successful appointment is subject to obtaining an enhanced DBS check.
