We are currently recruiting for a company that require a High Voltage Protection Design Engineer.

1. Brief description:

The Senior Electrical Engineer: Protection and Control will be reporting to the Engineering Manager and have a minimum of 5 years working experience in the Electrical Power T&D sector. The engineer should have a sound understanding of substation designs. This includes the ability to interpret client specifications from tender documents, interpret Protection & Control schematics to enable the preparation of stage by stage interface documents and drawings, specification and design of ancillary equipment (batteries/chargers/LVAC boards etc.) and the ability to design mechanical and electrical interlocking schemes. The candidate should also be able to hold client technical meetings and progress reviews. The Senior Electrical Engineer will assist the Proposals Manager in tenders.

2. Roles & Responsibilities will comprise:

-Design of Single Line Diagrams
-Design of Main Protection & Connection diagrams
-Design Mechanical & electrical interlocking schemes
-Production of phasing diagrams
-Design Protection and control schemes, including tripping logic, I/O schedules, GA's and wiring diagrams.
-Ability to produce interface packages
-Calculate protection settings
-Compile relay settings and logic.
-Providing technical support to the project delivery design team / project construction team.
-Reviewing designs and making recommendations
-Liaison with internal design team, client and contractors as appropriate
-Attending technical meetings with clients and subcontractors
-Tender verification and cost estimation for protection
