Medical Claims Assessor is required for a large and successful Financial Services Company based in Hove. This is a permanent position offering a fantastic working environment and an excellent benefits package to include agile working on a 60/40 split.

As Medical Claims Assessor you will be providing a pro-active and comprehensive claims assessment and management service, authorising and processing the payment of claims on protection products.

Medical Claims Assessor Key Responsibilities

  • Claims Assessment – gather appropriate evidence and medically assess information in order to accept or decline claims;
  • Manage Caseload – Manage all claims from end to end;
  • Work Management Practices – process claims within claims guidelines;
  • Regulatory Framework – Adhere to current financial, FOS, regulatory, legal and industry guidelines in processing and assessing claims including DPA;
  • Customer Communication – handle incoming and outbound customer contacts also liaising with 3rd parties;
  • Appeals and Complaints – Identify appeals and complaints and take ownership fpr trying to resolve them with urgency;
  • Supporting your Team – take responsibility for supporting your team by deputising when needed;
  • Bigger Picture – gain understanding of industry and customer expectations of Claims Products and Service.

Medical Claims Assessor skills, knowledge and experience required:
  • You must have knowledge and assessing skills in – Critical Illness, Terminal Illness and Total Permanent Disability;
  • Insurance products and policy conditions;
  • Extensive understanding of different Claim Events;
  • Awareness of Compliance regulations, and adherence to these;
  • Knowledge of legal aspects pertaining to claims (probate etc)
  • Extensive Medical knowledge;
