My client based in Northfleet, Kent, is looking for an experienced bookkeeper to join their team immediately on a temp to perm basis. This is a sole charge position where you will be providing a complete bookkeeping function.

Key Tasks:

-Purchase Ledger – coding and input of invoices into Sage50. Preparing payment runs to pass to the Director inline with company procedures
-Bank Reconciliations – Daily reconciliation of company bank accounts
-Paypal/Credit Card reconciliations – familiarity with sagepay ideal
-Posting of daily ecommerce transactions
-Payroll – calculating employee hours and submitting to external payroll agency. Posting of payroll journals
-VAT/ECSL/Intrastat – completion and filing of returns.
-Assisting accountants with year end audit
-Sales Ledger – assisting the sales team with invoicing and payments
-Review of Nominal accounts on a monthly basis to identify any posting errors and then prepare and post correcting journals as necessary
-Ad-hoc duties as required.

The ideal candidate will need to be able to start immediate and will be required to hit the ground running. They must be confident with preparing VAT returns and have a good understanding of ECSL/Intrastat. Experience with Sage 50 is essential as is intermediate excel skills. They should have had experience with ecommerce systems, as well as credit card and paypal reconciliations. Experience with the production of basic monthly management accounts would be an advantage. Strong Purchase Ledger experience is essential as is an understanding of double entry bookkeeping.
