E (Gas and Electricity) Ltd are a rapidly expanding energy company with over 200,000 customers. Due to our rapid growth, we are looking for a Retention Officer to join our busy office opposite Birmingham International Station. You will be responsible for making outbound calls to existing and new customers that may be looking to cancel their electricity and gas contract for a variety of reasons. You will also take inbound calls as necessary in order to fully own a resolution for customers looking to cancel their new contract. You will use your objection handling and negotiation skills to explore the stated and unstated reasons for the cancellation request given by our customer. This will involve sharing the benefits of our product package in contrast to other offers the customer may have seen in addition to resolving other reasons for cancelling. This role offers substantial variety in the wide range of issues that customers will raise and would suit an individual looking to move away from a wholly sales based environment, giving you an excellent opportunity to demonstrate your passion for delivering excellent retention and customer service whilst using your sales skills. Skills and experience required

  • Excellent communication skills and a strong customer focused attitude
  • Ability to build rapport and handle objections to influence and negotiate at all levels
  • At least 6 months direct experience in a retention or sales role
  • Self-motivated with strong organisational skills and the ability to multi task
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • IT literate
