Key Responsibilities:
The DMPK Team Leader will have a track record of contributing to the delivery of drug discovery projects and the experience of contributing to molecular design to ensure DMPK properties are effectively integrated into lead identification and lead optimisation within the medicinal chemistry programs. You will use your scientific knowledge and insight to evaluate strategic decisions regarding compound selection throughout the discovery pipeline. In this position you will work closely with colleagues in other departments on projects ranging from early to late stage drug discovery, so the ability to build strong relations with collaborators and clients (internal and external) is key.

Skills & Experience Required:
You will have the experience of leading and mentoring a team of DMPK scientists in order to increase and improve their drug discovery knowledge and expertise. Practical experience in designing, validating and troubleshooting DMPK assays is highly desirable. You will be directly involved in liaising with clients on a regular basis hence good communication is key. Your role is likely to involve occasional travel to other sites and to visit your project teams at their facilities.
The ideal candidate will be a strong supporter of implementing the latest science and technology to influence drug discovery projects. In this role, you will have an opportunity to generate and build academic collaborations in order to improve our client's scientific presence. You will have the passion and aptitude to drive innovation and implement changes within. To fulfill this role, the following is required;

- PhD in Drug Metabolism or a related field or a BSc/MSc plus 10 years relevant experience
- Wide ranging experience of working within DMPK in support of drug discovery projects
- Excellent knowledge of DMPK assays, data interpretation and their relation to the drug discovery process
- Comprehensive awareness and understanding of in silico models and in vitro-in vivo correlations and their application to maximize the value of existing DMPK data
- Good scientific track record supported by publications and presentations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
