You will be the Finance Assistant, supporting the Finance Officer to provide flexible financial management support to our small team. You will help handle the day-to-day management of the charity’s finances: book-keeping; expenses and payments administration; and supporting senior staff in the production of management reports. Owing to the size of the organisation, there will the provision of some HR-related support around hiring and payroll.Principal responsibilities:
·Maintenance of annual budgets and cash flows.
·Administration of payroll, pensions and liaison with payroll agency.
·Assist with end of year preparation and procedures.
·Supporting the Finance Officer to produce finance management reports for senior managers and the Board.
·Ensure all invoices and expenses are authorised and coded correctly, including staff expenses.
·Prepare supplier and staff expenses payments in line with payment policies.
·Maintenance of computerised general ledger, cashbook, and cash flows on Quick Books.
·Monthly bank reconciliations including general ledger, balance sheet and donations database.
·Maintaining the donor database and administration of gift aid claims.
·Petty cash management.
·Helping to ensure that all financial information, including donor information, are compliant with UK Company and charity law and contributing to statutory reporting requirements.Personal Specification: Essential CharacteristicsSkills and experience
·AAT Qualification or equivalent.
·Good understanding of financial management procedures including accruals, pre-payments and journals.
·Proven numeracy and data analysis skills.
·Proven experience of a finance role in in small office environments, preferably book-keeping and preparing company financial statements for organisations with ~£1m turnover.
·Discretion and a proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
·Strong computer literacy, including experience using Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks.
·Good written and oral communications.Desirable
·Experience of, or good exposure to, UK Company and Charity law around financial and statutory requirements for small UK charities.

This role is graded on RESULTS Professional scale with a minimum salary of £23,940 per annum. The exact salary will be set on the RESULTS Spine Point Scale according to experience.2. Hours of Work
This post requires a working week of 5 days (37.5 hours), excluding breaks. This will be worked as agreed with the line manager but some flexibility may be required to meet the needs of the job. There is no paid overtime.3. Holidays
Holidays are 25 days per year plus UK bank holidays. Three of the 25 days are to be taken between Christmas and New Year when the office is closed. One extra day holiday is gained with each complete year of service up to a maximum of 5 extra days. Holidays are earned in arrears.4. Length of Contract
This is a permanent position.5. Probationary Period and Notice Period
There is a three-month probationary period for this role. The notice period is one month subsequently.6. Location and Line Manager
The post will be based in RESULTS UK’s national office at 31-33 Bondway, Vauxhall, London SW8 1SJ.
