Job Title: Merchandise Planner

Location: Head Office - London

Department: Merchandising

Reporting to: Head of Merchandising

Purpose of the Role

Responsible for planning and trading of own area with limited supervision using management skills and commercial awareness to be ultimately responsible for maximising profitability of department.

Working closely with the buying and design teams to build a balanced range for the season to ensure full profit potential with maximum business flexibility.

Commercial Acumen

Strong mathematical and analytical skills, as well as a commercial awareness of the high street. An expert on excel, with strong communication skills, whom is able to dissect data into meaningful messages.


Strong planning and trading skills using knowledge of a WSSI and an understanding of the importance of managing stock levels and markdown in order to ensure profit is maximised on their given department.

Communication and Influencing

Will be a confident presenter, in order to participate fully in trading and planning meetings. They will demonstrate strong listening skills and willingness to partner effectively with other departments in the business.

Time Management

The ability to manage their own time is important as well as the ability to delegate and supervise more junior members of the team in order to make sure that deadlines are met.
