Heritage Care has a fantastic opportunity for a Support Worker to join the team in Norfolk. Joining us on a full time or part time permanent basis, you will receive a competitive salary of £15,059 rising to £15,257 after probation period. As a Support Worker you will need to develop warm and trusting relationships with people with learning disabilities to help them to lead fulfilling and independent lives. No two days are the same – you will be supporting the tenants to undertake household chores, including planning and preparing meals to supporting them in leisure, education and employment services inside and outside of the home. Experience of caring/supporting people with mental health support needs in a paid or voluntary capacity is desirable. You will also need to have exceptional relationship building skills as you will be part of an experienced staff team working inside their homes. Excellent listening and communication skills and a positive encouraging attitude is a must in this Support Worker role. You will need to be able to demonstrate a good standard of written, verbal and numeracy skills as well as good basic IT skills. Most important is a genuine passion for supporting people with learning disabilities to reach their full potential. No particular qualifications are required but the Diploma in Health & Social Care Level 2 or related qualification would be helpful. Hours of work: You will be required to work shifts, including evenings, weekends and possible “sleep-ins” or “on call” duties. Full and Part Time hours available.
