A large and friendly Welsh Medium Primary School in the outskirts of Cardiff are looking for an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full time basis. This role is to commence as soon as possible and is confirmed until July 2018. The job is highly likely to continue in September 2018.

As a dedicated and committed Teaching Assistant, your role will be to support the children in achieving their potential in all aspects. This role is working as a general Teaching Assistant within the Reception/Year 1 class. Within the class you will be working to support children in line with the Foundation Phase curriculum. You will support the children in achieving learning and developmental milestones, including supporting them in social and emotional development. You will work closely with the children to help them to take pride in their achievements and in developing their confidence by promoting positivity and praise. You will use your positive attitude to help to create a fun, safe and enjoyable learning environment for the children, ensuring that they feel confident in learning.

You will be responsible for guiding small groups of children through the completion of learning activities such as numeracy/literacy and themed topics/subjects. The right person for this role will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a positive approach to tasks, and a genuine desire to support the pupils to the best of their ability. You will be welcomed as part of a large, friendly and supportive team, to work in a forward-thinking and well-resourced school.

In order to apply for this role, you will need to have;
Fluency in all aspects of the Welsh Language
Excellent knowledge and understanding of the Foundation Phase Curriculum and Early years development
Recent, relevant and referenceable experience of working in a similar environment to support children with the delivery of the National Curriculum
Excellent interpersonal/communication and rapport building skills
A positive and proactive approach to your job role, with a strong work ethic
