Systems Manager : Microsoft / Networking : Edinburgh : 6M FTC - To 36k DOE Abrecco are recruiting a Systems Manager on behalf of our client based in central Edinburgh for an initial 6 month fixed term with strong potential to extend. You will lead and manage a small network and systems team as well as external vendors in the delivery of systems and networking projects and BAU support. While the primary purpose of the role is team and project management, you should have a broad ranging knowledge of Microsoft infrastructure and Cisco networking technologies and ideally have progressed from a hands-on technical background. Customer focus with excellent organisational and communications skills are paramount as you will be interacting and engaging with the business, 3rd party suppliers and internal colleagues on a daily basis. Role Responsibilities; - Lead and manage technical infrastructure teams from the front - Work with and manage external suppliers and ensure delivery against agreed service levels - Work across multiple concurrent tasks and projects - Ensuring all tasks and projects are delivered and completed to the highest quality - Make technical recommendations and act as a point of escalation for the team Personal and technical attributes; - Proven experience across service delivery and infrastructure project management - Excellent communication skills together with vendor and stakeholder management experience - Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to effectively manage technical resource - Knowledge of Microsoft technologies (Windows Client/Server, AD, IIS etc) - Networking knowledge (IP Networking, cabling, Cisco, network security etc) This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Service Delivery Leader or Manager who has progressed from a technical background to join a well established organisation in central Edinburgh and while this is an initial 6 month fixed term role, there is potential to become permanent.
