Shared Interest Foundation is an international development charity that seeks to break the cycle of poverty through the creation of resilient businesses. It is a sister organisation to Shared Interest Society. We believe that helping someone to build a strong business is a sustainable and respectful way to fight poverty. This is why we provide financial management and governance training, and help build support networks in disadvantaged rural communities. We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Fundraiser to join our small Foundation team enabling us to develop and increase our income generation. You will help generate new ideas and develop our existing initiatives and fundraising strategies in order to maximise income from Trusts, Foundations and individual donors for our projects and programs overseas. You must be able to demonstrate experience in a similar role with a successful record of raising funds and securing donations from Trusts and Foundations together with experience of cultivating new donor relationships. You must have strong communication and people skills and the ability to develop positive and productive networks, together with experience of managing relationships and meeting financial targets. You must be proactive, flexible and organised with experience of working in a multi task environment. With the drive and enthusiasm to get things done, you will be comfortable working to tight deadlines. Knowledge of Fairtrade and experience of working in the developing world will also be an advantage. Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate commitment to and empathy with the aims and objectives of the Society.
