Electrical Shift Engineer: Leyland, Preston. £30k - £35k dependent upon experience. Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) experience is desirable. Our client is rapidly developing soft tissue converting business supplying the domestic and away from home sectors in the UK. Their innovative approach to the conversion of a quality base sheet into attractively packaged and presented finished product, delivered to stringent quality assurance standards for own label and the branded market place has driven its continued success in the market place and sustainable growth within the business. In order to deliver the continued growth in the business the company is developing further manufacturing capability at its new production/distribution facility in Leyland with the installation and commissioning of three converting lines currently underway. The installation programme is now at the stage where we are starting to recruit the teams to operate, run and maintain the plant and the search is now on for suitable candidates to fill these roles. Working on a continuous production five shift pattern (12hr shifts) with an attractive competitive remuneration package in line with industry expectations the following roles are available to the right candidate with the appropriate skill base and level of experience: flexible with a good attitude; a team worker with first class fault finding ability capable of delivering innovative safe solutions in a pressurised environment. You will time served and qualified by apprenticeship, university degree or a recognised adult apprenticeship qualification with a minimum of three years' experience of working in a similar capacity in a 24/7 FMCG operation, conversant with state of the art PLC operated equipment and supporting electronic drive systems and ancillary equipment, experience and knowledge of Siemens PLC's would be an advantage to the candidate. With safety as the first priority the successful candidate will have to be able to demonstrate the ability to quickly fault find and rectify issues within a pressurised environment, monitor and improve resolution of day to day runability issues to reduce downtime and maintain equipment efficiencies within the department. Working in partnership with mechanical/multi skilled colleagues to deliver the best solutions in the shortest possible time and partake in planned maintenance periods and changeovers of the machines. Always working with safety as the first priority, work closely with other members of the maintenance team as well as operators to maintain runability and uptime, assist in the delivery of disciplined efficient planned maintenance and changeovers.
