Front End / UX Engineer

Due to recent period of growth, a Front End/ UX Engineer is needed to work for one of the pioneering companies in the telecoms industry. The company works with reputable names such as EE, TalkTalk, and Vodafone operating in a number of areas including communication security.

Front End/UX Engineers will play vital role in how visible parts of the company products, such as interfaces, are created and refined in order them to work well for general public and network operator customers.

Following Agile and DevOps principles, Front End/UX Engineers will be introduced into a team of about 14 developers who work in a deeply technical but collaborative environment where like-minded innovative people are always on hand to help out one another.

Working with highly modern technology, Front End/UX Engineers do not have to have graphic design skills as their main focus of the role will be maintaining front end software and working closely with the graphic designer in order to tailor the user experience side of the products.

Front End/UX Engineer requirements:
  • JavaScript experience (client-side) – at least 3 years
  • CSS, jQuery, AJAX techniques and responsive design
  • Mobile Browser experience
  • 2:1 or higher degree in a numerate discipline: in Computer Science, Engineering, Maths, Physics or similar.
  • Good A-level results (typically grade A) in technical subjects

Desirable:
  • Angular/Angular 2
  • Bash or python
  • Java and JSP
  • Bootstrap
  • NodeJS
  • Linux or Unix experience
  • Relational databases - awareness of common design and optimisation techniques
  • NoSQL technologies

Position: Front End / UX Engineer

Location: Hampshire (Between Southampton and Portsmouth)

Salary: £35-45k
