An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an established finance function within an entrepreneurial business based in Liverpool city centre in the role of Management Accountant. The role is ideal for a confident and skilled qualified by experience Accountant who enjoys autonomy and has the ability to use their initiative to analyse and query figures. The successful candidate must have excellent management accounting expertise, experience of budget / forecasting, producing variance analysis and setting and monitoring KPIs.

It is essential that all applicants for this role have a working knowledge of Sage 50 and a good understanding of Excel. There is also the potential for future progression and development opportunities for the right person.

The Management Accountant will be responsible for:

·Monthly Management Accounts including balance sheet reconciliations

·Yearly budgets and monthly variance reports

·Weekly/monthly/yearly cash flows

·KPI reporting

·VAT returns, all submissions to HMRC electronically, including PAYE

·Year End Accounts prepared for auditors

·Setting up new companies on to our established systems and introducing procedures to bring them into line and ensure accuracy

·Run, maintain and update Sage Line 50 for all users

·Management of the sales ledger including dealing with all queries and recovery of overdue amounts

·Management of purchase ledger

·Bank reconciliations

·Sending payroll information to consultants and processing salary journals to Sage

·Auto Enrolment for each company as their staging date is reached

·Use of online banking, including downloading account information, and sending BACS transfers

·Electronic payment of wages, purchase invoices and monies due to Inland Revenue

·Handling and responsibility for the Petty Cash, including reconciliation

Ideally you will have/be:

·Qualified by experience Accountant

·Working knowledge of Sage 50 is essential

·Good understanding of Excel

·Experience of working in a similar, varied accounts role within an SME business

·The ability to work using your own initiative is essential

·Strong analytical and communication skills are essential
