Financial Controller job paying up to £50,000 for a growing Manufacturing company near Haydock.

Hays are delighted to be working exclusively with a privately owned manufacturing company as they look to appoint their first Financial Controller. This profitable and growing business have been trading for over 15 years and have a stable and experienced management team with significant industry knowledge. Due to continued growth and a 5 year plan to reach £15m t/o they are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified Financial Controller.

As their first Financial Controller you will be tasked with reviewing the business from the top down to asses all systems, controls and processes and then advise on improvements. This will be a broad and autonomous role the reaches all parts of the business and the role holder will be an active member of the senior management team.

The Financial Controller will take responsibility for producing all management accounts and developing KPI reports in conjunction with business requirements. A key aspect of the role will be developing the budgeting and planning processes to allow the business to look ahead rather than rely on historical data. As the role is broad you will be required to get into the detail and support the the transactional team to ensure that work is completed on time but also to improve existing processes to save time.

Ideally we are looking for qualified accountants who can demonstrate existing experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment. You should have a key eye for detail, be confident in working with non-finance and senior managers and also be interested and capable of making system improvements. The Financial Controller will be given a free rein and support to future proof the business for the expected growth so that risks are reduced and opportunities are identified.
