IT Support Engineer / 1st - 3rd Line Support Engineer - Active Directory / Group Policy, MS Exchange 2010/2013/O365, VDI, Azure, Cloud Based Technologies. London, West London, Contract, 6 Months+, 200 - 250 p/day

Large secondary school currently seeks an IT Support Engineer to be responsible for dealing with support issues across Desktop, Server and Network technologies for around 2000 users (Techers, Support Staff, Students) largely focussed on Wintel Server Infrastructure, Azure Cloud based systems, Desktop workstation environments and basic networking issues.

We are searching for a candidate with a range of skills to apply to support issues; someone who is equally happy assisting with lower level mobile device, printer network, desktop issues as they are providing 3rd line support for Windows Server Active Directory/Group Policy, Virtual Desktop Environment (VDI) support and maintenance along with core wintel engineering issues such as DNS routing and DHCP.

Based at the School you will work within a team of Support Analysts responsible for both BAU support issues and also project deployments across all levels of technology employed. This will include infrastructure migrations and upgrades, cloud migrations and deployments. You will be required to support desktop environments including Win7, Win8, Win10, Apple Mac OS/X; Windows Server AD/GP, MS Exchange and O365, DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN and Wireless networks. This will form the technical environment for project deployment as well as BAU support. Experience of SCCM for desktop maintenance and software deployment along with any VDI experience could also be put to use although this will be in conjunction with a 3rd party support consultancy.

We are searching for candidates who have acquired a combination of technical qualifications (from: A+, MCP, CCNA, MCSE, MCITP etc) combined with commercial experience within an IT Support Analyst capacity. You will be comfortable working with Windows Server (Windows Server 2008/2012/2016) and be able to troubleshoot user account issues in Active Directory & MS Exchange, MS Office 365. Experience with basic LAN/WAN/Wireless networking issues and an understanding TCP/IP along with DNS, DHCP troubleshooting will be required. Ideally you will have some experience spinning up virtual desktops using MS, Citrix or VMWare VDI tools and potentially have had some exposure to SCCM.
