Preetha Sampath is recruiting for a Consultancy Design Engineer to join a leading engineering inspection consultancy headquartered in Manchester. This is a permanent opportunity offering a competitive base salary which will be assessed on a case by case basis. The primary responsibilities will include: -Being a technical expert, specialising in the pressure discipline. Working with a team of industry experts at the Manchester office, you will perform various design reviews/assessments of pressure equipment to ensure design codes have met the required standards (e.g. EN13445, PD5500, ASME, PED, PSSR). -Issuing final product/system certification and giving advice on pressure system related issues, which will enable clients to carry out their business to the highest standards. You will use a variety of software, hand calculations and finite element analysis to achieve your goals. - Keeping up with the latest pressure industry trends, design codes and legislation and you will be required to grow and rise to new challenges that are presented to you. -Ability to work in a team to discuss complex issues, but also be able to work independently with the ability to find solutions and make decisions on challenging situations. - Being responsible for contract management and will be able to work with clients to ensure their expectations are met and operational results are delivered. - Completing design reviews to ensure customers' documentation complies with relevant standards - Providing pricing within the consultancy operating licence frameworks In order to be considered for this role, you must have the following qualification, skills and experience: - HNC/D or equivalent in a relevant Engineering discipline - Ideally, candidates will be educated to Degree level in Engineering and/or offer Chartered status - A solid understanding of pressure systems and offer substantial experience working on pressure equipment – i.e. pressure vessels, heat exchangers, pipework, skid packages and associated equipment. - Resilient and tenacious with the ability to use your problem-solving skills to resolve issues and queries. - Have a thorough understanding of the Engineering discipline and an appreciation of the legal and regulatory framework in which operates. - Knowledge of all pressure related regulations including but not limited to: PED, PSSR, ASME 8 Div 1 Div 2, ASME other Design Sections * Please note that an application for a DBS certificate will be submitted in the event of the individual being offered the position.* Please note that your CV should show exact dates of employment (month and year) and any gaps of a month or more should be explained.
