Starting this September, a fantastic and very successful Primary School in Central London are looking to recruit an SEN Teaching Assistant, confident in supporting pupils with ASD (Autism) within KS2 (ages 7-11yrs). This is a FANTASTIC SEN Teaching Assistant opportunity, which could see you gain invaluable, frontline experience for the rest of the academic year (Jan 2018 – July 2018).

POSITION: SEN Teaching Assistant - KS2 class

PERSON: Ideal for Psychology Graduates – interest or/and experience with Autism required

SCHOOL: Fantastic Primary School – aged 3-11yrs – Hugely Successful!

LOCATION: Central London – Borough of Camden

TRANSPORT: Multiple Public Transport Links – Northern & Victoria Lines – 2 minutes’ walk

START DATE: Immediate start

PAY: £1,400 per month. Including FREE Private Medical Health Care worth £600

PERSON:- Who are the school ideally looking for…

To work within such a testing learning environment, applicants will need to have a genuine interest and passion to work supporting children with Special Needs / SEN. The head of school is looking for a hardworking, bright and caring graduate, who has their sights set on a career within education, ideally focused on SEN and psychology. Applicants will need to be confident and able to deal with the daily challenges that arise when working with Autism (ASD). ONLY those able to commit for at least 1 school year are asked to apply, with consistency of real importance for this role!

ROLE:- What will your role include…

If successful, you will become part of a brilliant team, working as a full time SEN Teaching Assistant within Key Stage 2. You will be given the very best support, as you make the transition into the team and given any and all training required for you to successfully support pupils within the school. You will be required to support KS2 pupils 1:1. You will have the opportunity to learn and develop your understanding and skills around key communication methods, used within autism, such as PECS and Makaton. Working as an SEN teaching assistant within such an environment will be the ideal experience and springboard ahead of a September 2018/19 Masters or Doctorate.
