Clarus Education is working with an ‘Outstanding’ secondary school located in the affluent area of Wimbledon, South West London. The school is seeking to recruit a highly competent Food Technician to work within their Design & Technology (D&T) Faculty on a full-time basis.

The role will see the successful candidate assist the class teacher with the preparation of materials and equipment for the successful delivery of Food Technology lessons.

POSITION: Food Technician – Design & Technology Faculty

PERSON: Experience of vocation related food preparation is desirable

SCHOOL: ‘Outstanding’ – Ofsted December 2017 - Mainstream Secondary School

LOCATION: Wimbledon, London Borough of Merton – Inner London – Zone 3

TRANSPORT: Excellent public transport links – Underground and Bus

START DATE: ASAP!

HOURS: Full-Time, 08:30-16:00hrs (possibility of working outside of these hours)

SALARY: £70 per day, plus £650 pa Healthcare Package!

Food Technician – The Person:

·Experience of work relating to the preparation of food

·Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

·Team-player, ‘can do’ mentality, helpful and engaging

·Able to work to deadlines in a calm and efficient manner

·Highly organised, efficient, personable, conscientious

·A good level of understanding of H&S and COSHH are highly desirable

·A culinary related degree would be of interest

Food Technician – The Role:

·Assist teaching staff with the preparation of Food Technology lessons

·Close inventory management of related classroom provisions

·To successfully interact with students and teaching staff alike

·Oversee routine maintenance of tools and equipment within the department

·A strong focus on raising standards and attainment is essential

·A broader interest and understanding of Design & Technology is required

·Full-Time, Long-Term position, £70 per day + £650 Healthcare Package
