S3 Science is pleased to be recruiting an enthusiastic individual for a rewarding role working within the scientific community. We are currently seeking a Cage Wash Technician based in Edinburgh.

The desired candidate should demonstrate good interpersonal skills, possess the ability to work as part of a team and be self-motivated with a flexible approach. You will be providing effective practical support to ensure the efficient operation of the animal research facilities. The successful candidate will receive full training and have the opportunity to develop and learn

Responsibilities will include

To operate washing machines, autoclaves, ovens and other associated equipment.

To conduct general portering duties e.g. transportation of equipment / furniture within the building, some manual handling etc.

Maintaining high levels of hygiene and housekeeping.

Assisting with the deliveries of animal facility stores.

Clean and dispose of all laboratory waste.

Ensure that all work is performed in a safe manner.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

Experience of autoclave and cage wash systems (desirable).

The ability to work alongside set procedures.

Knowledge of animal husbandry and animal care. (desirable)

GCSE Grade C and above - Maths, English, and Science.
