Financial Controller: An ACMA or CIMA qualified Financial Controller, Accountant or Management Accountant with 2+ years' experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment is required to centralise the accounts function for a small group of businesses helping to provide financial stability as both companies continue to grow. As part of this newly created role the Financial Controller will manage a small Finance Team whilst also taking responsibility for bringing the group finance function in house and setting up finance systems and processes designed to help drive the business forward. The successful Financial Controller will join two successful companies with their own distinct brands; a food based organisation and a protective clothing manufacturer. As such applications from candidates with a knowledge of either the manufacturing or distribution industries are particularly welcome. Responsibilities: - Preparation of monthly management accounts including P&L, Balance sheet and Cash Flow for two companies within the Group - Preparation of weekly P&L estimates and other KPI's - Management and preparation of the short and long term cash flow projections, including foreign currency projections and purchases, using Sage Forecast and Netsuite - Management of the cash flow so that the business operates within the banking covenants - Management of product costing, BOM, Landing Costs and stock valuation - Responsible for the stock checks and ensuring it is organised correctly and is accurate - Preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts - Responsible for the business systems and processes to maximise efficiency within the business - Driving margins and profitability - Responsible for managing the monthly payroll - Management of two finance staff and ensuring the development of the team Skills and experience: - ACMA / CIMA qualified Accountant or Management Accountant - Experienced in preparing management accounts including the narrative to support the numbers - Experienced in stock management, costings and preparing and managing cash flows - Experience of working within a distribution and manufacturing environment - Proven ability at improving systems and processes to improve the business efficiency - Experience of managing IT or at least of implementing IT systems (desirable) - An ability to proactively challenge others within the business in a constructive manner - Presentable and comfortable working with the Directors to take the business to the next level This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Accountant or Management Accountant looking for career progression to join a growing group of companies in a new, dynamic Financial Controller role.
