Main Duties:

  • Take technical ownership of allocated projects. The post requires multi-discipline skills in mechanical, thermal and electrical design. Training in electrical design will be given
  • Responsible for delivering in all technical aspect of the project including documentations and reports
  • Ensure all technical activities are conducted in a comprehensive manner to meet the agreed specification
  • Working closely with all team members to ensure that project is designed, manufactured and tested in an efficient manner whilst still maintaining flight requirements
  • Provide a forward-looking outlook to avoid technical problems later on
  • Be milestone focused
  • Communication with customers in all technical aspect
  • Working with project manager to define technical work packages for team members
  • Always focussed on the balance of technical and programmatic delivery
  • Reporting to Delivery Stream Manager and the wider business

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Very strong technical background in engineering or science. Educated to degree level or post graduate level qualification.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in space industry
  • Expertise in spacecraft level structural/thermal design including use of NASTRAN FEM package
  • System engineering experience is desirable
  • Previous experience of working with teams, planning and reporting
  • Strong communication skills at all levels with ability to provide solutions
  • Ability to work well under pressure to demanding timescales
  • Strong IT skills including MS Office
  • Enthusiastic , hardworking and professional approach essential

  • Ability to work within defined timescales to meet programmes milestones.
