Our client is one of the UK's leading engineering and construction contractors, providing specialist building, rail, civil engineering and industry focused skills within the commercial, industrial, education, rail, aviation, waste and energy sectors.

They are looking for a Senior Paving Engineer to join them on a civils project based in Essex on a permanent basis. You will be required to get involved in the planning and monitoring of paving works within the overall programme.

Successful candidates will be aware of the models and what setting out control is required; programme the paving works and monitor progress to have an overall understanding of the outputs, identify information requirements in good time to meet the defined plan, keep accurate records of as built dates in diaries and on construction drawings, whilst ensuring the on-site engineers do likewise, keep accurate records of events affecting the project plan or disrupting the work (SI's, CVI's, delays, errors, etc.) and communicate these to the Agents/ Quantity Surveying staff when required and ensure you understand the fortnightly construction programmes drawn from the master section programme and brief the engineers on their relevant section of works.

Further responsibilities include providing accurate setting out and control (using Leica Total Stations and machine guidance technology), establishing accurate and clear setting out on the ground that site operatives can work to, maintain accurate wastage reports and keep the Agents and Quantity Surveyors informed of your findings. Managing the Site Management Plan, Site Engineers and being aware of the responsibilities from the HSEQ policies will also fall within your remit.
