Security Operations Analyst Tier II

Location: Cheltenham, Gloucestershire
Salary: £29 - £40.7k, DOE
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Hours: 37 hours Monday – Friday

We are looking for an ITSecurity Analyst to join our team to help with expanding and developing our security operation capabilities.

The Role:

This role will report to the Head of Information Security, working with other teams within the agency to improve information security.

As part of the role you will:

  • Develop and maintain the in-house security operations capability: implement vulnerability scanning, and advise on remediation and mitigating controls.
  • Identify and triage Information Security alerts and incidents. Work with other teams such as IT and software development to effectively react to, and remediate, them.
  • Assist in the continual improvement of the ISO 27001 compliant Information Security Management System.
  • Carry out regular threat analysis to identify changes in the threat landscape that may have an impact on HESA.

The candidate:

  • You will be educated to at least higher education level, or have relevant work experience and knowledge.
  • You will be able to demonstrate sound understanding of security operations principals, tools and techniques.
  • Three or more years’ IT experience with at least one year in a security operations role are essential.
  • Experience of web-based, cloud based, and database architectures is highly desirable.

  • The salary range for this post is £29k - £40.7k dependant on skills and experience.
