Required: Enterprise Architecture - Cloud, Azure, Active Directory, Windows, Infrastructure, Stakeholder Management.

Salary: £90,000 - £120,000 - depending on experience

Company: A leading commercial Insurer based in the heart of the City.

The Role:

The Enterprise Cloud Architect, will be responsible for defining and overseeing our client's Cloud Strategy and then driving the Cloud transformation forwards with Senior Stakeholders. This will involve understanding business requirements, aligning to corporate strategy and architecting IT transformation projects.

  • Defining a compelling cloud architecture vision for a set of key capabilities/functions and influencing the organisation to adopt it.
  • Working with Senior Business Stakeholders, Project Delivery, Security, Operations, Infrastructure and Application Architecture develop Infrastructure Cloud Adoption Strategy, which should include:
    • Design provisioning of Cloud Infrastructure, networks, WAN, Firewalls, Disaster Recovery (DR), Security and Storage.
    • Design of Infrastructure Service and Provisioning of Infrastructure Automation
    • Best Practice deployment recommendations for Cloud Infrastructure and Applications
    • Approach to Cloud Migration
    • Approach to cost management, support and scaling of environment
    • Development of Enterprise Cloud standards, policies and ways of working.
    • Work across the business to develop Cloud roadmaps and architect solutions.
    • Analyse technology implications of business decisions.
    • Define and communicate solution options to address business challenges and opportunities.
    • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with senior business stakeholders, industry bodies and 3rd Parties
    • Represent Strategy & Architecture in key forums
    • Ensure relevant governance procedures are in place and continually improved
    • Ensure appropriate information is shared to enable effective decision making
    • Manage and deliver Infrastructure architectural work
    • Develop a broad understanding of the firm's strategy, capabilities and key technologies
    • Ensure holistic approaches to the design and selection of solutions, using the knowledge of architects and relevant business stakeholders

    Required Experience (Expert knowledge):
    • Demonstrable experience in design, implementing and deploying Azure dedicated and hybrid deployments
    • Experience with migration from on premise to Cloud Platforms e.g. Microsoft Azure
    • Experience with Active Directory, disaster recovery (including ASR), troubleshooting
    • Proficiency in building Windows Systems and provisioning them via deployment technologies.
    • Experience working with server virtualisation technologies (Hyper-V, VMWare, Citrix)
    • Proficient experience of IaaS cloud services (Azure stack, VMM, Windows Azure).
    • Expert knowledge of Infrastructure Deployment Automation e.g. Docker and Puppet/Chef
    • Experience of Scripting and programming languages, ideally PowerShell and DSC & JEA
    • Experience deploying Windows 10, Windows 7 VDI and integration with Office 365
    • Knowledge and experience in network architecture and security including Azure Express Route
    • Beneficial: Infrastructure experience of working with Application Architecture on:
      • Continuous integration and automated deployments
      • SQL Server and Transact-SQL
      • WebAPI, Webservices, C# and ASP.NET
      • SharePoint, CRM, Azure Services
