Java Software Developer, Newcastle, permanent, 35,000 - 50,000 DOE per annum

Highly successful and growing technology consultancy business which provides the very best in bespoke software solutions across a variety of market sectors is looking to expand their team. They work with a variety of blue-chip clients and provide an opportunity to work on a range of different technologies. Cutting edge technology used and their engagement in an open source solutions made them widely known and respected technology company. This is an on-site position in Newcastle office, but some travel, including travel abroad, will be involved. The office in in the city centre location enabling an easy, car-free commute.

Your new role

They follow an Agile approach with solid development practices, and are looking for creative and self-motivated problem solvers with a demonstrable passion for technology and teamwork.

What you'll need to succeed
This is a hands on, client-facing role, offering the opportunity to be involved in full development life cycle. You should have proven commercial Java experience, preferably in enterprise-scale applications, good technical design skills including OO design principles and design patterns, a relevant university degree, experience with Agile development methods. It would also be great if you have knowledge of building scalable server-side applications on the JVM, eg. REST, Spring, SQL/NoSQL, microservices, concurrency and messaging paradigms, experience of HTML5 development and JavaScript, involvement in open source projects.
