A leading college based in Holborn, Central London are looking to recruit a part time 'AAT Lecturer'.

The role will be paying £25-27 per hour and is working 10am - 5pm every Saturday for a minimum of 10 weeks. The role will be commencing 20th January.

Main purpose of the job:

To carry out teaching and administrative duties in the area of AAT.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • The work carried out by our lecturers varies according to individual areas of responsibility but often includes:
  • To teach all AAT levels in areas allocated and reviewed by the Programme Leader.
  • To engage with the College’s broader scholarly and professional communities.
  • To contribute to the development, planning and implementation of high quality curriculum.
  • To assist in the development of AAT learning materials, preparing schemes of work and maintaining records to monitor students’ progress, achievement and attendance.
  • To participate in departmental meetings aimed at sharing best practice and building interdisciplinary collaboration within and outside the department.
  • To participate in the development, administration and marking of AAT exams and other assessments.
  • To provide pastoral care and support to learners.
  • To participate in the administration of the department’s programmes of study and other activities as requested.
  • To contribute to departmental-wide working groups or meetings as requested.
  • To maintain own continuing professional development.
  • To actively follow and promote policies, including Equality and Diversity.
  • To maintain an awareness and observation of fire and health and safety regulations.
  • Developing and implementing new methods of teaching to reflect changes in research.
  • Carrying out administrative tasks related to the department, such as student admissions, induction programmes and involvement in recruitment
  • Representing the college at professional conferences and seminars, and contributing to these as necessary.
  • Establishing collaborative links outside the College with industrial, commercial and public organisations.


  • A strong knowledge of the subject area combined with a broad subject background enabling contributions to teaching programmes
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Proven record of ability to conduct high quality research which is reflected in the authorship of high quality publications, or other research outputs, in the areas of computer science.
  • Ability to work collaboratively
  • Qualification in ACCA and CIMA
  • Previous experience in teaching in Accounting and Finance
