Professional Support Lawyer - DR - 1 year Contract

Reporting to the Head of Dispute Resolution, the successful candidate will contribute to the development and maintenance of LexisPSL Dispute Resolution's leading online practical guidance and knowledge tools for litigation lawyers.

The role will include: writing and working in partnership with external authors to deliver practical guidance content on dispute resolution; analysing the latest legal developments and court judgments to produce timely, customer-focused analysis; and maintaining and updating guidance content within LexisPSL Dispute Resolution. The candidate may also play a crucial role in representing this module within LexisNexis and to its customers.

For the right candidate, this role represents an exciting opportunity to be involved in the development of this key LexisPSL module, which is at the heart of LexisNexis' Legal Intelligence proposition.

Key skills we're looking for :

UK qualified lawyer (solicitor or barrister) with significant PQE (or equivalent)

Excellent technical legal knowledge (substantive and procedural) and a broad practical experience of dispute resolution law and practice

Very strong analytical skills and a sharp eye for detail

The ability to communicate legal concepts concisely and clearly

A clear, succinct writing style, and the ability to adapt to LexisNexis tone and house style

Demonstrable experience of drafting: case and/or legal analysis; legal advice on substantive and procedural issues; precedents or other know-how

A desire to be at the forefront of knowledge and analysis of new and developing law

A real understanding of the legal community and market and, in particular, the needs of dispute resolution practitioners

Excellent knowledge of legal research databases

Excellent networking and interpersonal skills

A flair for innovation and idea generation

Excellent organisation and planning skills

The ability to generate enthusiasm for a concept or project amongst peers

Strong communication and effective presentation skills

Desirable skills:

Previous experience of writing articles on legal topics

Experience in using technology to create and publish online content

Experience in training fellow lawyers or clients

An interest in/understanding of how technology may enable legal services to be delivered more efficiently and economically
