Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant - Wolverhampton A modern and highly regarded secondary school in Wolverhampton are looking to recruit a maths graduate to help mentor their GCSE students for the remainder of the academic year. *** Maths Teaching Assistant *** Graduate post *** Long Term/Interim, Full-Time role at a forward-looking secondary *** Position starting immediately *** £60 per day My client school, located close to Wolverhampton and Dudley, has approached Edustaff for the recruitment of a high calibre Graduate Learning Mentor/Teaching Assistant for their maths department. The school is a large modern secondary with specialisms in science and technology. It’s mainly home to pupils from a white British background and is much larger than the average UK school. The school caters for pupils between the ages of 11 and 19 with over 250 pupils in the Ofsted rated ‘Good’ Sixth Form College. The school has a relatively new senior leadership team that are continually looking at ways to improve pupils experience during their time there as well as improving GCSE results. In order to help departments improve students’ attainment the school successfully utilise Mathematics graduates to great effect. As a Maths Graduate Subject Mentor you will work closely with the lead teacher in supporting pupils in the subject. Where you work and spend your time in school will be largely dictated by your past experiences and degree subject. This is a varied role but on a daily basis you could find yourself working with splinter groups from the main class, supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis as well as supporting the class teacher with experiments. Each teacher utilises their Graduate Subject Mentors in different ways so candidates must be flexible, adaptable and hard working in order to get the most out of this experience.
