Our client is one of the largest and oldest independent Builders’ Merchants in the east of England with fourteen diverse sites. They are able to meet the needs of the professional builder and decorator, and those of their private customers.

They are currently seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed Credit Control Assistant to join the Head Office Credit Control team based at their Colchester site.

Duties and responsibilities include:

·Communicate with customers to ensure they remain within agreed trading terms or agree a pro-active resolution to any difficulties within agreed guidelines

·Working with the credit control team – opening accounts, sending for references, producing letters and general credit control administration

·Maintaining customer database

·Taking and processing debit card payments

Candidate profile:

·Experience of working in a busy credit control team

·Good communication skills both internally and externally in accordance with their Customer Charter

·The ability to work to deadlines

·Good attention to detail

·A flexible team player

·Good ICT skills and familiar with using Microsoft Office tools

·Knowledge of Merlin Business Software would be desirable but not essential

The hours are Monday – Friday, 8.00am- 5.00pm
