Data/Network Cabling Apprentice
Due to business expansion, we require a Network Cabling Apprentice with the potential to turn into a perm role. The role will require a fair amount of travelling either by van or train around the Surrey/Hampshire/Berkshire/London areas and sometimes even further afield. Occasional overnight stays may be required with accommodation and meals provided.
This position is tailored as an entry level position suited to someone looking for a change in career. Candidates are not required to have a background in cable engineering, as on the job training will be given. However, ideally candidates will have at least 1 years’ experience working in a related trade such as plumbing, electrical engineering or construction and hold a relevant CSCS/ECS card.
A driving license/ own transport is not essential, but you must be able to get to the Lightwater area in Surrey to accompany our senior engineers to site.
Your main duties would be:
Installation of CAT5e/CAT6/CAT6A cables, terminating and testing them (using a Fluke DTX1800)
Installation of Fibre cables and terminating them
Installation of ICT equipment such as server racks, patch panels, RJ45 wall modules, Wireless Access Points.
Installation of AV equipment such as SMART boards, Projectors, speakers, etc
