KS1/2 Behavioural Teacher - Sheffield - Part time - January 2018 start

This is a through school in Sheffield that supports children with Behavioural, Emotional and Social Difficulties.
Your new role
You will be working within the Primary team, supporting students across Key Stage 1 & 2 who have been excluded from mainstream education. This is a part-time job, teaching a maximum of 8 students with the support of Teaching Assistants. You will be expected to plan and deliver innovative, creative and challenging schemes of work using strong, firm communication skills. Due to the profile of the students you will need to have a strong, resilient character, but also be patient and understanding. De-escalation skills are essential to ensure volatile situations don't occur.
What you'll need to succeed
You need to have worked within a Pupil Referral Unit, ideally with KS1 and KS2 students. You must be a qualified teacher with a PGCE and hold Qualified Teacher Status. Team Teach is desirable but not essential. The school are looking for someone with enthusiasm and inspiration who can engage students. You need to be calm, understanding and empathetic; but also firm and resilient. A minimum of 40 days experience within the last 2 years is required
