Chief Technical Officer CTO / Technical Director - .NET , Travel Systems

Wilmslow, Cheshire - Commutable via Stockport, Altrincham, Northwich, South Manchester

£100,000 - £120,000 + Package (Negotiable) + Significant Performance Bonus

Dynamic highly innovative and fast growing global software development company requires highly experienced CTO/Technical Director who is a passionate, visionary, creative -a leader and an innovative technologist.

The Role:

Working closely with the Managing Director to deliver the developed requirements to achieve the company growth plans whilst maintaining a high level of quality services and security.

To advise the board on technical strategy, opportunities and threats across the group.

Provide leadership and management of the worldwide technical teams including Software Development, Database design and administration, Testing, Support, Hosting and Network infrastructure teams.

General management of the software division (currently 60 staff with growth to over 100 planned).

Create and deliver innovative robust solutions within the challenging Aviation and Travel industries.

Provide Technical pre-sales and post-sales support on world beating Aviation Groups SAAS systems.

Champion change and innovation within the products and across the portfolio.

Manage, motivate and mentor multiple teams within budgets and to schedule.

Work closely with the Heads of Department across the group to develop IT and system solutions to support their department needs.

Ensure we achieve excellence across all our activities.

Be articulate and demonstrate technical credibility across the organization and to our customers.

Have an appetite for getting hands dirty with the team - achieving a balance of maintaining a strategic perspective as well as getting into the detail where appropriate.

Required Skills and experience:

Strong proven people management skills including motivation, mentoring and development of key technical staff. Good understanding of the modern .NET tech stack is essential.

Strong leadership skills, with the ability to facilitate teams work and effective communications with clients.

Project management, Change management and Conflict resolution experience.

Resource planning and commercial acumen.

Desirables / by no means essential:

Windows licensing including SPLA, Gold partner

Duties and responsibilities of a grade A sponsor

Travel industry technical innovations, Aviation GDS, PSS, Booking Flows, PCI DSS, ISO 27000 series, GDPR, ITIL, 3rd party supplier management

Agile techniques and Water fall methodologies, Test driven development, Network and datacentre security.

Cloud vs on premises hosting.

Design and Creation of loosely coupled systems.

Complex Database design and data management, Vendor selection and management.

Partner section and management.

Business intelligence reporting.

Revenue management systems.

Any understanding of airline pricing structures and methodologies.

Creation and management of Booking engines and Ecommerce websites.

Design of enterprise level applications to be delivered via web based media.

Design and delivery of transactional systems and integration with 3rd party APIs.

Delivery of micro APIs to 3rd parties.

You will work with a group of highly passionate technology people who want to develop the best systems in their chosen business area. Excellent Remunerations package on offer including strong bonus element. Occasional national and international travel required (4 or 4 times a year to Europe, US, South Asia, Australia).

Will support with relocation expenses package if needing to relocate to the North-West region, subject at terms.
