Buyer - Food/FMCG
Due to a successful 2017 my client are currently recruiting a number of roles to support growth into 2018. I'm looking for a Buyer to Senior Buyer, willing to work within the North West region. Your responsibility will be to seek every opportunity to develop value-added, branded and own label products, to increase margins and profits.
Our client is one of Britain's largest UK multi-channel retailers, voted one of the best big companies to work for in the UK. A reputable British food retailer with over 880 stores throughout the UK, a further 40 owned or franchised stores across Europe, and a global export business.
Implement the category strategy, business plans and operating criteria for the product category. Ensure sales forecasting, range plans, profit targets, new product development plans and space plans are implemented and reviewed
Review current supplier base and, where appropriate, introduce new sources and/or rationalise. Work pro-actively with suppliers to negotiate trading terms and seek ways of driving costs out of the business.
Work cross-functionally with other department members to ensure effective new product development, pricing & product accuracy and availability e.g. Product Supply, Marketing, Finance, Merchandising and Technologists.
Ensures the Critical Paths are set up and maintained by the B&M Admin Assistant and monitors on a weekly basis, flagging any concerns and resolutions to the Buying and Merchandising team.
As a Buyer with a Food/FMCG Background you will have:
- 2-3 years' experience within a buying environment
- Preferably managed Food, FMCG categories
- Passion for food
- Showcase commercial awareness (Market, Suppliers & Customers)
- Positive, ambitious attitude in a fast paced environment
- Influencing across cross-functions and external audience
