Service Charge Accounting Team Leader
Service Charge Accounting Team Leader - Commercial/Residential. Our Client is a professionally recognised chartered surveying firm that cover a large part of South East England. They offer various services to Investors/Owners and Occupiers and handle both commercial and residential properties. They are currently looking for a passionate Service Charge Accounting Team Leader with experience of people management to join their accounting team.
The Role: The successful candidate will assume responsibility for the team whilst conducting the following:
Preparing the service charge reconciliations and accounts for commercial properties.
Managing the client period end statements for reporting net rental income to clients.
Managing and reviewing the preparation of commercial and residential service charge accounts.
Preparing/finalising the service charge accounts to be audited or reviewed externally.
Dealing with client leases and ARMA/RICS regulations.
Ensuring statutory accounts are prepared in accordance with applicable accounting standards for RMCs.
Obtaining approval from and sending clients the statutory accounts.
Manging and reviewing service charge budgets, ensuring clients have approved them.
Ensuring correct apportionment of budget charges in accordance with the leases.
Overseeing a smooth hand over of accounts to new managing agents.
Working with the Credit Controllers to ensure arrears are chased according to procedures.
Ensuring accuracy of the database and date input.
The Person you must be an experienced Client/Service Charge Accountant have evidence of leadership skills as this role will require someone to manage a small team. Knowledge of both commercial and residential service charge accounting will be ideal however applicants with just one will still be considered. You will be an excellent problem solver and be computer literate; experience of a property management software will be highly advantageous. Applicants who are available to start immediately or are on shorter notice periods will be prioritised. This is a good role for someone wanting to work outside of London with an established and reputable property firm.
