We are proudly representing our public sector client based in Newcastle for their search for a Payroll Assistant. They now have an immediate requirement to recruit for a temporary assignment to start as soon as possible for 3 months.
The RoleTo create and update HR/Payroll system master data records relevant to payroll matters eg tax codes, bank details, union deductions and other subscriptions upon receipt of appropriate authorisations. To input sickness information onto HR/Payroll system taking appropriate action when system generates warnings or information regarding sickness entitlement or Statutory Sick Pay.To process additional payments to the HR/Payroll system in order to facilitate the payment of: Expenses, Overtime, Teaching and Demonstrating and Monthly Hours Returns.To undertake general administrative duties including filing and scanning documents.
The PersonPrevious Administrative experienceGood standard of educationStrong attention to detail excellent IT skills in particular MS Excel are requiredMust demonstrate a flexible approach and provide assistance to fellow team members as and when requiredGood inter-personal skills and telephone manner are essential Experience within payroll would be adventurous
