Teaching Personnel are currently working with a 'Good' secondary school for children aged 11-16 with social, emotional, mental health and behavioural difficulties. Due to an increase in numbers of pupils being referred to the school, there is a higher demand for Teaching and Support Staff. The school require people who are available on a day to day basis as well as those who are looking for longer term work as the school recognises that continuity of staff is essential for vulnerable and unsettled pupils. Pupils arrive at this school in crisis after experiencing significant educational difficulties, long periods of non-attendance, exclusions and disengagement. The school are very skilled at building positive relationships with pupils displaying challenging behaviour and work exceptionally hard to break down barriers to learning and give all pupils the chance to achieve. The pupils at this school do have very challenging behaviour and so any TAs who apply need to be able to manage verbal and physical aggression. You do not need to have experience of working within a SEMH difficulties (EBD/BESD) school however you do need to have experience of working in a school or setting with challenging children or adults. The school is located in Liverpool, a short drive from the M62 for teachers or TAs who drive, and a 10 minute walk from a train station and a short walk from bus stops for those requiring public transport.
