DS – Electrician Location: Tidworth Salary: £26,585 Overview: First Military Recruitment are currently seeking an Electrician on behalf of our clients. The purpose of this role is to undertake new, reactive or planned preventative maintenance as part of a highly skilled maintenance support function. This role would suit ex-military personnel however, candidates from all backgrounds will be considered. Duties and Responsibilities: * Ensure that all areas of personnel adopt and utilise QHSE policies and procedures. * Not to interfere of misuse anything provided in the interests of Health and Safety or protection of the environment. * Reporting all Health and Safety defects, near misses, dangerous occurrences and spillages to the helpdesk. * Take all reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of themselves, employees, customers or members of the public is not affected by their activities. * Undertake electrical installation and reactive work to the required standard and in line with any documentation. * Carry out periodic inspection, testing and reporting to current standards. * Resolve any reactive tasking as directed by management. * Work generally unsupervised and effectively manage daily workload. * Ensure acceptable standards of productivity and workmanship are maintained in the execution of work. * Recording of all maintenance works when completed as required by company management system. * Able to carry out functions in an organised and logical manner with a flexible ‘can do’ approach. * Carry out such duties as reasonably required by line managers and other senior managers. Skills and Qualifications: * 17th Edition Wiring Regulations. * Full UK driving licence. * Recognised electrical apprenticeship. * Previous experience as a qualified electrician. * Must be able to obtain MoD security clearance. * Industrial, commercial and domestic building experience. * City and Guilds 2391 – Inspection and Testing is desirable. * Manual handling is desirable. * And understanding and working knowledge of other disciplines would be desirable. * Previously carried out testing and maintenance on emergency lighting equipment would be desirable. * Previous experience of an MoD or military environment. * Previous experience of using PDA equipment would be an advantage. * Understands the needs and implications of RAMS. * Ability to set out jobs from drawings and specification. With the ability to requisition the installation materials. * Accept responsibility for completion of jobs. * Good communication and interpersonal skills. Location: Tidworth Salary: £26,585
