Leading off-highway vehicle manufacturer are looking to recruit an Electrical & Electronics Design Engineer. This role involves generating new harness designs and releasing hardware specifications to support the development of new machine products. The individual must have a wide range of electrical and electronic skills to understand and develop hardware architecture at machine level. Proficient in harness CAD packages and experience with harness roughing, fuse allocation, wire sizing and CAN network development. The main responsibilities will be to support the Electrical and Electronics Manager within the following areas; To implement new and fresh ideas for machine harness architecture from concept to production including design, development, validation and design release. Proficient in harness CAD packages and experience with harness routing, fuse allocation, wire sizing and CAN network development. Generation of technical drawings and hardware specifications. Coordinate with suppliers. Control of documentation and effective traceability of information within the Engineering systems. Ensuring product conformance and adherence to the very latest internal standards and the machinery directive. Technical support for service and production departments. Electrical & Electronics Design Engineer Requirements: Electrical degree or equivalent. Demonstrates creativity and innovation within the discipline of the Electrical and Electronic subsystem of mobile construction equipment. Will complete full Product Improvement (PI) change note documentation. Awareness of cost implications for full component life cycle. Suggest ways of continuous improvement. Working understanding of Engineering Sign Off (ESO) procedures. Actively promotes cost reduction and quality improvement activities. Competent with systems and procedures of the department e.g. Computer Aided Design (CAD) / Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)s. Test procedures to commission and diagnose hardware issues. Demonstrates ability to take responsibility for the design/development of Electrical and Electronic subsystems - From concept to on-line manufacture. Capable of executing analysis, calculations in regard to wiring sizing and fusing. Capable of working from engineering brief as well as arrangement models. Understands impact on full systems of own work / full system awareness. Interprets standards related to off highway mobile machinery and applies to own work. Has a positive impact and influence on both colleagues and work outside their own area of responsibility. Capable of interpreting and using test data and analysis techniques results correctly. Contributes meaningfully to discussions on complete systems as well as own sub-system. Able to lead some Design and Development projects / programmes, works to a budget and a timing plan. Would normally be responsible for meeting timing, technical requirements, costs legal of elements of new products. Demonstrates engineering progression through knowledge and understanding. Demonstrates and has whole machine / system knowledge. Ability to work as part of a Global team interacting with engineers at other site such as Brazil, China & India. Ability to adhere to sub-component supplier installation sign off requirements.
