£27,668 - £30,152 rising to £31,601 per annum

Hours: Full time: 37 hours per week (cover 8am-4pm & 10am-6pm alternate weeks)

Work base: Rushden Office

Reporting To: Head of IT and Systems

Job Purpose

Build and maintain strategic relationships with the organisation’s stakeholders; understanding their needs and objectivesDesign and deliver IT solutions that meet both strategic and operational service needs Support business change by acting as the single point of contact for stakeholders to ensure understanding of available IT Infrastructure services and promote awareness of solutions that deliver continuous improvementMaintain a detailed knowledge of the organisation’s key processes, applications and the supporting IT Infrastructure.To actively contribute to the strategic development and maintenance of the Spurgeons IT infrastructurePromote collaborative working between IT and other functionsTo assist in the support and delivery for IT related services and procurementEnsure IT platforms are utilised to their full potentialTo ensure end user satisfaction with all supported IT services; leading on projects to deliver added valueAssist the Head of IT and Systems in the development and delivery of the IT strategyPerformance Fundamentals

Providing Excellent Services

  • To support, promote and develop a IT service catalogue, communicating IT service offerings and opportunities; meeting regularly with stakeholders
  • To represent IT services on key organisational change projects; providing expert advice on all IT related matters
  • Engage and lead on discussions with key stakeholders to asses needs and identify opportunities
  • Design & Develop innovative solutions that support continuous improvement
  • Continually seek to improve the effectiveness and quality of the IT support service offering through stakeholder/user engagement
  • Keep up to with industry trends and anticipating future needs
  • Ensuring best practices are implemented throughout the organisation
  • Provide end user support and advice
  • Provide support and maintenance of the IT infrastructure estate, where required liaising with 3rd party support partners
  • Support the IT procurement process, negotiating with suppliers to achieve the best value solutions
  • Manage and support the telecoms equipment and hardware as required
  • Spurgeons exists to respond to the needs of individuals therefore many of the tasks and responsibilities are unpredictable and varied. It is therefore expected that all staff will work in a flexible manner when required, undertaking duties that have not specifically been covered in the job description
Managing Self and Others

  • Research into the latest technology trends and recommending solutions that improve the user experience
  • Relevant courses and seminars for personal development
  • To lead on or assist Head of IT & Systems with any IT development projects
Managing Resources

  • Effectively manage IT change, identifying and assessing any potential risk
  • Actively contribute to the maintenance program of IT infrastructure and its components
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with external organisations such as suppliers, external support providers and other agencies
  • Work with external providers to ensure Spurgeons IT infrastructure is fit for purpose
  • Keep up to date IT inventories
