Maintenance Manager The ideal candidate for this role would be someone with Maintenance/Facilities Management experience gained within either the FMCG or Packaging Industry. Excellent package available. The role is permanent although and Interim Manager initially could be considered. Reporting to the Managing Director Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours, plus any other days and hours required to fulfil the requirements of the job to a standard which is satisfactory to the company. This may include working at the weekend, bank holidays. Experience/Skills required: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to accurately handle a number of project and tasks and to balance priorities to tight deadlines. Conversant with workshop practices and etiquette. Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques. You must be capable of using related resources in a safe and effective, manner including maintenance equipment and systems. Proven ability in mechanical engineering, ideally including hydraulics, electrical, metalwork, pneumatics, building, refrigeration Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel) and Maintenance packages (ie. Service Life) software. Qualifications/training in First Aid, Fire Marshalling, Manual Handling, MEWP, FLT and PPT (desirable). Experience of electrical safety training; i.e. C & G 17th Edition Skills and knowledge. To hold relevant refrigeration qualifications as to be able to manage the areas within my responsibility - not essential Duties: Plan and carry out all new projects as per the Directors’ instructions. To be responsible for all aspects of the chilling equipment on site and to keep this equipment up to date with current legislation. To carry out repairs and maintenance on ripening rooms/large plant refrigeration, fire and alarm systems, etc. To achieve improved efficiency on site to include building, facilities machinery/equipment and materials. To monitor stock and suppliers for the Facilities Department. To manage service contracts to include security and protection systems including CCTV, alarms. To advise on technical issues when required. Inspect work completed by the Maintenance Technicians as required. To support the Health and Safety team and Fire Safety team. Provide specialist knowledge to identify problems and patterns and help find solutions and resolve issues promptly. Ensure that all processes and procedures comply with operational and statutory requirements. Maintain accurate records and relevant and accurate information is communicated in a timely and effective manner across all appropriate areas of the business. Maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, suppliers, providers and customers in order to maximise co-operation. Comply with company health and safety policy, procedures, working practices, risk assessments. Ensuring that all accidents/ incidents and near misses are reported. Manage and guide team members under your indirect control. To train, coach and or monitor team members in role-specific and standard operating procedures and safe working practices as required. Make cost-effective and informed decisions within your level of authorisation and competence. Adapt to the changing requirements of the business and adopt a flexible approach to changing duties and activities as required or directed and promoting such culture in team members and colleagues. Carry out any other duties necessary with a willingness to be flexible with working hours to respond to the needs of the company. Pro-active in the development of self and undertake training consistent with developing skills relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the role. .
