Events & Marketing Officer Responsible to: Membership, Marketing & Events Manager Hours: Full time - 37.5 hours per week Salary band: £22,000 – 25,000 dependent on experience + 5% pension Location: Office based Purpose of the role: To organise the Association’s training programmes and other events by managing event promotion, recruitment and operations, and to promote the benefits of membership services to a wide range of individuals, schools and organisations. Performance Measures: - Number of training events and number of delegates attending - Membership number and income target is achieved through retention and recruitment - External awareness of Association’s events and resources - Customer satisfaction with member services and events Tasks and Responsibilities: - Events - Schedule training events in the UK - Promote events to recruit delegates and/or sponsors/exhibitors - Track progress against income targets - Identify venues and develop links and relationships - Manage events expenditure - Oversee pre- and post-course communications - Analysis of event evaluation - Organise course dropbox content for delegates - Support line manager with the recruitment of trainers - Oversee content of delegate packs and delivery to venue in a timely manner - Manager overall logistics to ensure smooth running of Awards Evening, Summer School and other large events Marketing - Promote membership services to members and non-members - Support line manager with communicating the Association’s message to a wider audience. - Support line manager and/or other staff with PR activities. - Monitor email reporting statistics to ensure email marketing campaigns have maximum exposure and impact - Undertake data selections, exports, imports, analysis, maintenance of data records and other data administration work on the organisation’s CRM and - Dotmailer to provide accurate and timely information for the Association’s use when communicating and managing relationships with - Any other task as requested by line manager Skills and Knowledge Required Basic skills in: - Microsoft Powerpoint Intermediate skills in: - Analytical skills - Prioritising - CRM use - Microsoft Word - Microsoft Excel - Copy writing - Written Communication - Relationship building Advanced skills in: - Event management - Planning & scheduling A good working knowledge of: - Social media - Email marketing - Direct mail - Video marketing - Digital marketing - Understanding of D&T’s purpose and messages - Association’s services - Customer service A basic knowledge of: - Understanding of education systems, teaching and culture
