Automation Tester - Selenium, Automation, C#, SpecFlow, nUnit, Junit - £350pd - Manchester

This exciting organisation are expanding their Testing team by adding an automation Tester in their Manchester office on an initial 3 month contract. The business has grown significantly in the past 12 months due to an increase is sales.

Role Summary:

The Automation Tester will be responsible for software test automation design, planning, scripting and execution for a variety of key customer-facing mobile apps. You will work closely with developers, designers, test engineers, product owner and other stakeholders throughout the business, executing automated test iterations, tracking & reporting test results, troubleshooting and coordinating the bug fixes. You should have a strong understanding of agile processes and the related QA lifecycle and automation methodology.

Role Responsibilities (list the main job duties and responsibilities, including technical, operational and managerial):

  • Design solutions for Quality Processes, Testing & Automation Strategies and Test Execution Systems.
  • Review requirements, evaluate and recommend state of the art automation tools and/or enhance current toolset.
  • Research and Propose tool & technology choices for delivering high quality, performant and scalable testing solution.
  • Collaborate with automation engineering teams to define and implement best practices.
  • Support automated testing process by scoping and independently implementing or leading framework extension projects
  • Solve for efficiency, consistency and effectiveness
  • Operate on complex tasks/projects with minimal guidance
  • Lead development of test harnesses to drastically improve productivity and reduce repetitive manual procedure by functional testers.
  • Build metrics and automated systems for gathering/analysing quality checkpoints.

Knowledge and skills required:

  • Test Automation using Selenium (Web Driver)
  • Experience writing test automation code in C#
  • Experience using SpecFlow, nUnit and Junit test automation frameworks
  • Experience of Ranorex test automation software
  • Experience of Mailosaur and getpostman tools

The candidate should also have the following non-technical skills;

  • Capable of designing and implementing automation test strategies based on best practice testing frameworks.
  • Mentoring other team members
  • Articulating technical solutions in a non-technical manner to stakeholders at all business levels.
  • Desire to conduct manual testing where required.
