Job Description:

Over the past few years their client base has grown, and at present they support around 600 users internally and externally (and growing)! Due to this continued growth they're looking for an experienced, accredited IT Engineer (3rd Line) to join their team. You'll be responsible for:
  • Investigating, solving and liaising with clients on IT issues remotely and face-to-face;
  • IT Project Work, including Server and Network installations;
  • Administration and Management for:
    • Active Directory
    • Exchange
    • Hyper-V and VM Ware
    • Office 365
    • Business Systems Support
    • Network Infrastructure Support
  • Working effectively with 1st/ 2nd line engineers and apprentices, sharing your knowledge and supporting them with their development
  • Providing on-call support as part of their Out-of-Hours Major Incidents Team


What they're looking for:

They're looking for someone with previous service desk experience at 3rd level. The ideal candidate will have:
  • Experience with Server and Network installations
  • Experience with Microsoft Exchange, Installations and Migrations
  • Knowledge of Hyper-V Clustering
  • Knowledge of VMWare
  • Knowledge of Storage Solutions (eg NetApp, Dell)
  • Experience providing Mac support in an office environment
  • Highly organised with excellent customer-service skills, both written and verbal
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience of Cisco and/or Juniper


Candidates with 70-410 (Installing and Configuring Windows Server 2012), 70-411 (Administering Windows Server 2012) or 70-412 (Configuring Advanced Windows Server 2012 Services) will have a distinct advantage.

Key Skills and Requirements:

The Successful Candidate needs to have the following experience, qualities and knowledge:
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems
  • Extensive knowledge of firewalls
  • Extensive knowledge of Cisco switches and routers
  • Extensive knowledge of TCP/IP and associated protocols
  • Clear understanding of SIP and other voice protocols
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft desktop application such as office
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Exchange and email protocols
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Patience
