Hospice in the Weald – Care Director (maternity cover) Location: Based at the Hospice building at Pembury, near Tunbridge Wells Salary: circa £60,000 per annum pro rata + benefits Start Date: As soon as possible We are looking for an exceptional individual to work in partnership with the Medical Director, supporting the Chief Executive and the Board of Trustees to ensure that the strategic aims of Hospice in the Weald (HitW) are achieved.  This Care Director post mirrors our mission which is based on a philosophy of care for patients, their families and carers.  The post is a wider more ‘holistic’ one rather than a clinical approach.  The ideal incumbent may not  come from a Nursing background, but may bring skills to the post from a health and social care background - for example from a senior management role in Counselling, Rapid Response Care or Physiotherapy. The main focus of the post is to develop and deliver plans for current and future HitW Services to meet the needs of patients, families, carers and family caregivers.  You will be a leader who has the vision to guide, empower and enable the management team in charge of Services to provide effective, efficient and seamless compassionate Hospice Palliative Care.  A proven track record of operating at senior management level in health and social care, effective change management plus financial and commercial wisdom and prowess are essential to the post.  Hospice in the Weald provides compassionate, individualised, holistic and supportive care for all patients with a terminal illness, their families and carers in a community of approximately 350,000 over an area of 400 sq. miles of West Kent and northern East Sussex. We are based in Pembury in a beautiful rural setting, close to historic Royal Tunbridge Wells in Kent and are just 30 miles south of London.
