Are you a Purchasing & Contracts Manager with proven experience of running the end to end procurement process who will support a range of contracts.

A public sector organisation based in Bristol is looking for a permanent, full-time Purchasing and Contracts Manager to join their procurement team of 4.

You will be responsible for coordinating and managing tender procedures; interfacing with internal customers; managing contractual risk, recording savings and liaising with the supplier base. Whilst the commodity could range from software, hardware, stationery, photocopiers, to medical and sports equipment as well as a range of professional and FM services, we have a particular need for IT procurement experience. The organisation is about to replace some of its key IT systems and this post holder will be responsible for leading the procurement gaining valuable experience in this area. You will be responsible for leading a small team of 2/3, identifying opportunities and ensuring our customers comply with best practice purchasing guidelines and where applicable EU procurement regulations.

You will ensure that the full benefits of contracts and agreements are realised and explore new opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies in order to achieve savings targets, at the same time ensuring that the legal obligations and funding conditions are met. You will be confident in speaking with a diverse range of stakeholders at all levels, and capable of working independently, as well as being part of a close knit team.

To be considered for this role, you must have previous experience of running tenders, negotiating with suppliers; have excellent analytical skills and the ability to build relationships. CIPS qualified, or studying for CIPS and excellent IT skills (Word, Excel) and experience of EU procurement is essential.

Qualifications/Professional membership.

Full or Part-qualified membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply. Evidence of CPD. Desirable. Degree level education.

Knowledge/Skills/Experience. Essential. Min 3 years purchasing experience in a large, complex organisation. Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations. Experience of EU tendering. Experience of working in a busy environment and managing competing demands and tight timescales.

Desirable. Experience of staff supervision.
